MediWaxx Kansa Wand — Instructions for UseOverview
The MediWaxx Kansa Wand is a manual massage tool for facial and body treatments. It uses smooth, non-porous stainless steel massage heads and a balanced handle, with no heat or electronics.
In the box: 1 Kansa massage wand and 1 Kansa holder.
Best paired with: MediWaxx Flame-Safe Lotion Candle, used as the glide medium.
Intended use: professional spa, esthetic and massage settings, by trained technicians.
Safety and contraindications
Ask about the client's health and skin history before every treatment. Do not use the wand on:
Broken, irritated, sunburned or infected skin, open wounds or rashes
Active acne, cold sores, eczema or psoriasis flare-ups
Areas treated in the last 7 days with chemical peels, laser, microneedling, waxing or injectables
Varicose veins, bruises, swelling or recent injuries
Directly over the eyes, eyelids or lips
Use light pressure only and ask the client to consult a physician first if they are pregnant, have a circulatory or skin condition, or take blood thinners.
Always:
Apply a glide medium first; never use the wand on dry skin
Inspect the heads before each use; stop using a wand with a dent, burr or rough edge
Stop if the client reports pain, burning or discomfort
Before you start
First use:
Remove all packaging.
Wash the wand heads and handle with mild soap and warm water; rinse and dry with a lint-free cloth.
Disinfect the heads (see Cleaning below) and place the wand in its holder.
Before each treatment:
Wash and sanitize your hands.
Confirm the wand was disinfected after its last use.
Cleanse the client's skin and remove makeup on the treatment area.
Light the MediWaxx Flame-Safe Lotion Candle, let a pool of melted lotion form, then extinguish it.
Test the lotion on your inner wrist so it is comfortably warm, not hot.
Apply a thin, even layer of lotion to the treatment area.
How to use
Hold the handle like a pen for the face and with a full grip for the body. Keep the head flat against the skin and let the wand's weight do most of the work. Re-apply lotion whenever the wand starts to drag.
Facial treatment (5–10 minutes):
Start at the neck: glide upward from collarbone to jawline, 5–6 strokes per side.
Jawline: small circles from the chin out to the earlobe, 5 passes per side.
Cheeks: circles from beside the nose out toward the temples.
Under-eye area (orbital bone only, never the eyelid): one feather-light outward stroke, 3 passes.
Forehead: upward strokes from brow to hairline, then outward toward the temples.
Finish with long outward strokes from the center of the face to the ears and down the neck.
Body treatment (10–20 minutes per area):
Work one area at a time: back, shoulders, arms, legs or feet.
Use long, even strokes toward the heart, then slow circles over tense spots.
Use medium pressure on muscle; stay light over bony areas (spine, shins, elbows).
Avoid the spine itself, the back of the knees and the front of the throat.
After treatment: wipe off excess lotion with a warm towel and advise the client to drink water.
Cleaning, disinfection and storage
Clean and disinfect the wand after every client. Stainless steel is non-porous, so it can be fully disinfected.
Wipe off lotion with a paper towel.
Wash heads and handle with warm water and mild soap; rinse well.
Disinfect with an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant or 70% isopropyl alcohol, following the product's contact time.
Dry completely with a clean lint-free cloth.
Store upright in the Kansa holder, in a closed, dry, clean cabinet.
Do not:
Soak the wand overnight or put it in a dishwasher
Use bleach, steel wool or abrasive pads; they scratch the heads
Drop the wand on hard floors; a dented head should be replaced
Store it wet or in a sealed bag while damp
